I’m not going to lie, at first, I had zero interest in peer review sessions. Prior to my knowledge of how constructive and efficient they are in gaining resources and criticism to help one improve their paper, I believed that peer reviews were a waste of time due to past experience in high school. I fully understood just how helpful peer review is when we did it the second time around on project number two. Having access to read my peers essays helped me identify with similar things I do with my writing. But even better, the feedback my peers gave to me really showed how helpful this whole process really is by helping you develop ideas, reorganize your essay and tell you which parts should stay or need improvement! Specifically for me when I was reviewing my peer Galen Arnolds paper, I realized that he had a great thesis but could use better quotes in proving his argument and to add more smooth topic sentences so it did not just sound like a factual blur spread on his paper. But I definitely have areas where I could grow in my peer review process. Things such as doing more then pointing out a problem in the paper, I would be a much better resource to my peer if I was better at showing them how exactly to fix their problem by giving them an example but I seem to come to a halt at this point.
