In project number three, our challenge was to connect multiple articles to a thesis of our own and be able to connect quotes from each. This was by far the most advanced assignment we had regarding the process of understanding multiple articles and being able to use all of them to support our ideas. In doing so I believe that my past experiences in our previous papers allowed my skills in this area to come into full effect for project number three. One of the most influential examples I used to prove animals are conscious was a quote from Ross Andersons piece, “What the Crow Knows”, “In Japan, one crow population uses traffic to crack open walnuts: the crow drops a nut in front of cars at intersections, and then when the light turns red, the swoop in to scoop up the exposed flesh.”(Anderson 5) This is such a strong example of this topic because it proves that crows have adapted to their environment to be able to survive in the city.
Being able to find supporting quotes for your argument is the easy part though. Explaining and integrating your selected quote usually poses the biggest challenge for a writer. But thanks to in class discussions on how to do this the best possible way, I feel strongly that I can integrate quotes thoroughly to satisfy my point.
